Never would I have imagined this. Last week, the last of my events for 2020 was canceled. I sat and watched most of my revenue for 2020 evaporate. I felt like a deflated balloon. It was supposed to be a big year for Cottonpatch Designs. Oh the pain! Then it got worse, I realized that it isn't just the revenue I will not make, it is so much more.
These events bring together my friends, clients, customers, fellow artists, and the opportunity to meet lots of new and wonderful people--you can't put a price on that. That is what I will miss the most this year. I truly hope some events can be rescheduled for a later date, but that remains to be seen. I'll find a way to pay my bills, I still have my website and a bit of online business. That will, hopefully, see me through.
In the meantime, I will look forward to 2021 and pray for this to be over with soon. Although I don't know what the new "normal" will look like or if I will have to re-shape my business, I remain ever optimistic.
My prayers rise for all those on the front lines- the medical professionals, and staff, and first responders; for all those who are sick or have lost loved ones; for all those in need of food. God will comfort, heal, and provide--He always does...
