Paraments for Advent

The season of Advent is the beginning of the Church Year.  It encompasses the first four Sundays before Christmas Day. It is a time for patience and as we watch and wait for the birth (and coming again) of Jesus.  Some churches use blue (the color of hope and truth), while others use purple (the color of penitence and royalty).  Symbols include an Advent wreath, empty manger, white rose, bells, and the village of Bethlehem.
